Airship Pilot
We are now looking for
Airship Pilot
in Helsinki!
If you are a motivated person with an interest in aviation, here is a great opportunity for you. This role offers hands-on experience with unmanned airship technology and a front-row seat to how real-world aerial monitoring systems are operated and developed.
You’ll be part of a growing company working on novel aerial platforms, combining practical flying, operations, and problem-solving in real environments.
The role in practice
In this role, you will travel with the team to deployment sites, set up ground infrastructure, and support day-to-day flight operations in demanding environments. You will ensure that aircraft, ground systems, and supporting equipment are in working condition, and you are expected to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting independently.
You will be part of a highly mobile team operating in defence-oriented environments. Deployments typically involve multinational exercises across Europe and North America, with travel occurring regularly (approximately 60-80% of the time). Exercises may take place roughly every couple of months and last from one to four weeks at a time.
The work is hands-on and field-focused. You understand what flying operations require in practice and are comfortable working with hardware, components, and systems. When the full team is co-located, you may also support testing and development activities between deployments.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people with a practical background in unmanned aviation or related technical fields. This could include experience flying drones, building or modifying UAVs, or working with aviation or military systems. You understand how components, systems, and safety come together in real operations and are capable of performing maintenance and repairs yourself.
You are comfortable operating in defence-related environments and enjoy working in structured, disciplined settings. A background such as professional military service, or experience as a military drone operator, is well suited for this role.
You are willing to travel extensively and spend longer periods on deployment as part of a team.
Please note that the selected candidate is required to undergo a security clearance.
