Software Engineer, infra & integrations
The short version
You’ll build the backend systems and integrations that make Kelluu’s autonomous airship platform work in the real world. You'll build standardized, automated and reliable integrations to external systems that will enable our customers to get real-time data they can trust.
About Kelluu
We are turning the real world into a digital one, with accuracy down to the smallest detail. Imagine a near future where everything you see can be explored through data delivered by Kelluu, and where AI works continuously across that data to find what you need to know. Everything turned into answers.
We’re a Finnish deep-tech company, headquartered in Joensuu with offices in Helsinki and Tampere. We’ve just closed our Series A, the team is growing fast, the goals are ambitious, and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters.
Our technology is flight-proven and operational. We’re a NATO DIANA alumni with several thousands of hours of autonomous BVLOS flight experience, active programmes across multiple nations, and a rapidly growing team. We operate in both defence and civilian markets: the same technology that supports border security also monitors critical infrastructure and the environment.
Why this role exists
Kelluu is integrating with multilateral defense frameworks and sovereign government environments, and we're actively developing the process. We need someone to build standardised, automated integration pipelines, harden our infrastructure, and make our platform something customers can plug into with confidence.
What you’ll own
You’ll own the backend systems and integration layer that connects Kelluu’s platform to the outside world.
The impact you’ll have:
Build standardised integration pipelines that replace manual, error-prone processes — so customers get reliable, real-time data without our team hand-holding every connection
Automate infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment so the platform scales with the business
Define and maintain well-documented API interfaces that make it straightforward for customers to integrate with Kelluu
Improve internal engineering quality from code standards to testing pipelines
Prototype and build production pipelines for new capabilities as Kelluu expands into new domains and markets
Your team
You’ll work across the software and operations teams. The role touches everything from infrastructure and backend architecture to customer-facing integration work. The team is collaborative, people share knowledge openly, ask the uncomfortable questions, and take ownership beyond their own lane. If you can also communicate directly with customers when needed, even better.
What success looks like
By 3 months, you will have:
Built relationships across the team and with key stakeholders, understanding who does what and why
Developed a solid understanding of the domain, the platform, and relevant NATO standards
Actively contributing to the codebase, owning subsystems, and asking the right questions about architecture and integration patterns
By 6 months:
Deep technical understanding of the platform and all its integration points
Leading code reviews, improving team practices, and helping define architecture decisions
Onboarding and mentoring junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and establishing Kelluu best practices
By 12 months:
Working confidently across domains — contributing to areas beyond your initial scope as the platform evolves
Bringing new expertise into the company, helping improve both internal engineering practices and the end products our customers depend on
What we’re looking for
You’ll thrive here if you have:
Strong backend skills with Python and Go
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or Azure especially relevant)
Hands-on experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or similar real-time/near-real-time systems
Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows and tools like Claude
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Fast adaptability and strong self-organisation. You thrive in environments where priorities shift and you’re expected to figure things out
You take ownership, share knowledge openly, and aren’t afraid to ask questions
Fluent written and spoken English
Even better if you also bring:
Frontend experience
Interest in the aerospace, defence, or autonomy domain
Experience communicating directly with customers about technical topics
What you get
The opportunity:
Build the integration and infrastructure layer for a platform used in real defence and security operations
Grow into a lead or domain expert role as the company scales into new markets
Work with NATO standards and cutting-edge autonomous systems
The practicalities:
Full-time, permanent
Salary: 4800-5500€/month
Benefits: healthcare, lunch, culture, sports, and wellbeing benefit (Epassi), phone
The tools you need to do your best work
Flexible, distributed work. What matters is what you deliver, not where your desk is
The kind of place this is
Kelluu is a dual-use deep-tech company at the intersection of autonomy, AI, and aerial intelligence. We build technology that serves both national security and society, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We’re scaling fast, which means you’ll have real influence on how things are built. The flipside: things move quickly, priorities shift, and everyone wears a few hats. If you want a finished playbook and a clear lane, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you want to write the playbook yourself, it might be exactly right.
We use AI tools extensively, not as a gimmick, but because it lets a growing team move faster than anyone expects. We expect everyone to be curious about how to work smarter.
