Software Engineer, UI
The short version
You’ll own the UI that keeps Kelluu’s autonomous airship operations running. The internal platform is used by everyone from ground crew to mission commanders. You’ll shape the roadmap, build new capabilities, and make the system intuitive so that operators can focus on what matters.
About Kelluu
We are turning the real world into a digital one, with accuracy down to the smallest detail. Imagine a near future where everything you see can be explored through data delivered by Kelluu, and where AI works continuously across that data to find what you need to know. Everything turned into answers.
We’re a Finnish deep-tech company, headquartered in Joensuu with offices in Helsinki and Tampere. We’ve just closed our Series A, the team is growing fast, the goals are ambitious, and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters.
Our technology is flight-proven and operational. We’re a NATO DIANA alumni with several thousands of hours of autonomous BVLOS flight experience, active programmes across multiple nations, and a rapidly growing team. We operate in both defence and civilian markets: the same technology that supports border security also monitors critical infrastructure and the environment.
Why this role exists
Kelluu’s operations are scaling — more airships, more missions, more users relying on our internal platform. We’re talking about UI that our mission commanders, pilots, and ground crew depend on daily. A pretty important part of our work!
We need someone eager to understand what operators need and build an interface that’s intuitive enough to let our operations grow without adding complexity.
What you’ll own
You’ll own the development of Kelluu’s flight operations UI — the platform that every mission depends on.
The impact you’ll have:
Redesign and build the UI so a single mission commander can manage multiple airships simultaneously — directly enabling Kelluu to scale operations
Drive faster launch sequences and quicker problem resolution through better tooling, increasing operational flight time and reliability
Map out what operators, pilots, and ground crew actually need and translate that into a roadmap that serves the whole user base
Push the UI toward autonomy and intuitive design that reduces operator stress and cognitive load
Own the technical direction of the UI and grow into leading the team that builds it
Your team
You’ll work closely with the operations team and engineering. You’ll collaborate directly with the people who fly the airships and the people who build the systems behind them. The team values knowledge sharing, asking the “stupid” questions out loud, and being able to trust each other. If things go well, you’ll be the one building and leading a growing UI team.
What success looks like
By 3 months, you will have:
Built relationships across the team and with key stakeholders inside and outside the company
Developed a solid understanding of the domain — how airship operations work, what the users need, and where the current UI falls short
Started contributing and asking the right questions about architecture and priorities
By 6 months:
Communicating roadmap priorities confidently with stakeholders and the OPS team
Breaking down larger initiatives into deliverable pieces and iterating on them
Planning the next hires and thinking about how to grow the team
By 12 months:
Deep expertise in the full Kelluu UI architecture, working autonomously with stakeholders
Mentoring junior developers and leading the team so that it’s a genuinely great place to work
What we’re looking for
You’ll thrive here if you have:
Strong frontend skills with Vue or React, and the ability to work across the stack with Django and Python
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and tools like Rabbit or similar
Experience building high reliability systems
Excellent communication skills. You’re able and willing to think who your work affects and communicate actively
Fast adaptability and comfort with ambiguity. You figure things out rather than waiting for instructions
Ability to organise your own work in a fast-moving environment
Fluent written and spoken English
Even better if you also bring:
Frontend testing experience
Interest in the aerospace or defence domain
Experience working directly with end users or customers to shape product decisions
What you get
The opportunity:
Own a product that directly shapes how autonomous airship operations scale
Build a team and grow into a team lead role as the company scales
Work at the intersection of AI, autonomy, and aerospace — deep tech with real-world impact
The practicalities
Salary: 4800- 5500€/month
Benefits: Healthcare, Lunch benefit, Culture, sports, and wellbeing benefit (Epassi), Phone
The tools you need to do your best work
Flexible, distributed work. What matters is what you deliver, not where your desk is
The kind of place this is
Kelluu is a dual-use deep-tech company at the intersection of autonomy, AI, and aerial intelligence. We build technology that serves both national security and society, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We’re scaling fast, which means you’ll have real influence on how things are built. The flipside: things move quickly, priorities shift, and everyone wears a few hats. If you want a finished playbook and a clear lane, this probably isn’t the right fit.
We use AI tools extensively, not as a gimmick, but because it lets a growing team move faster than anyone expects. We expect everyone to be curious about how to work smarter.
