Airship Technician
The short version
You get to build something that has never been done in the Nordics: real, flying airships. This is a hands-on role where you assemble, test, and improve both the airships themselves and the tools used to build them. If you like taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and building better versions, this is your place.
About Kelluu
We are turning the real world into a digital one, with accuracy down to the smallest detail. Imagine a near future where everything you see can be explored through data delivered by Kelluu, and where AI works continuously across that data to find what you need to know. Everything turned into answers.
We’re a Finnish deep-tech company, headquartered in Joensuu with offices in Helsinki and Tampere. The team is growing fast, the goals are ambitious, and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters.
Our technology is flight-proven and operational. We’re a NATO DIANA Phase 2 alumni with several thousands of hours of autonomous BVLOS flight experience, active programmes across multiple NATO nations, and a rapidly growing team. We operate in both defence and civilian markets: the same technology that supports border security also monitors critical infrastructure and the environment.
P.S. We just raised 15M€ Series A.
Why this role exists
We are scaling our airship production and need more hands-on builders to take our manufacturing capability to the next level. At the same time, we are continuously developing new prototypes and improving existing systems, which requires people who can both build and think.
What you’ll own
You’ll build and improve airships and their subsystems — but exactly what you focus on depends on your strengths and interests.
The impact you’ll have:
Assemble airships from pre-manufactured composite, plastic, and electronic components into fully functional systems
Work hands-on with composite laminating or contribute to structural builds, depending on your experience
Manufacture and prepare subassemblies such as composite, plastic, aluminium, or electronic components for final assembly
Build, wire, and test electronic systems, including soldering, wiring harnesses, and connector integration
Take part in testing and validating finished assemblies, especially on the electronics side
Depending on your skills, you may also:
Focus more on electronics prototyping and testing, including coding (e.g. Python)
Work with RC systems or advanced electronics testing
Contribute to new prototype builds together with R&D
Support material flow, logistics, and inventory management
Your team
You’ll join a team of 7 technicians working closely with a production engineer and a prototype technician. The team works hands-on every day at the factory, building and testing airships together. You can count on that everyone supports each other, and no one is left working alone.
What success looks like
By 3 months, you will have:
Learned the core assembly processes and tools
Contributed to production and basic testing tasks
Understood how different subsystems come together in an airship
By 6 months:
Independently assembling and testing key subsystems
Actively contributing to prototype builds or improvements
Supporting electronics assembly, wiring, or testing work
By 12 months:
Owning parts of the assembly or testing process end-to-end
Contributing to more advanced prototyping or electronics testing (based on skills)
Helping improve how we build, test, and deliver airships
What we’re looking for
You’ll thrive here if you have:
Strong hands-on skills and interest in how things work
Experience in building or assembling technical systems
Ability to work independently and solve practical problems
Good English communication skills
Even better if you also bring:
Aerial knoledge
Testing ecperience
Composite knowledge
What you get
The opportunity:
Build real airships that actually fly
Develop your skills across mechanics, electronics, and prototyping
Be part of a small, capable team where your work matters
The practicalities:
Salary range €2,700-3,500/month depending on experience
Healthcare, Lunch benefit, Culture, sports, and wellbeing benefit (Epassi), Phone
The tools you need to do your best work
Flexible work culture
The kind of place this is
Kelluu is a dual-use deep-tech company at the intersection of autonomy, AI, and aerial intelligence. We build technology that serves both national security and society, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We’re scaling fast, which means you’ll have real influence on how things are built. The flipside: things move quickly, priorities shift, and everyone wears a few hats. If you want a finished playbook and a clear lane, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you want to write the playbook yourself, it might be exactly right.
We use AI tools extensively, not as a gimmick, but because it lets a growing team move faster than anyone expects. We expect everyone to be curious about how to work smarter.
